Press, Tablet, Fette, 45-Station, Perfecta 3000, C #A744192

Fette Model Perfecta 3000 Tablet Press, set up as 45-station, 100 Kn main compression, 20 Kn pre-compression, 16 mm max tablet diameter, 18 mm max depth of fill, with feed hoppers and force feeders, rated up to 486,000 tablets/hour. Set up for 460 Volt, 3-phase. Inspection report available upon request. Previously used in nutritional supplement application.

Electrical:

Power was applied to machine; found safety relay not allowing machine to run; missing two door switch magnets; other door switch magnets taped to switches to bypass safety; all emergency switches not working; both are bypassed; I jumped the safety relay to test machine; all the safety components need to be repaired or replaced before machine is put into operation; (safety relay was returned as it was originally found and was not tested) main drive started and ran; clutch engaged, and turret started; feeders motors started with turret; main drive motor speed control did not work; found chain missing; increase speed switch worked intermittently; decrease speed never worked; checked contacts and can manually activate motor to change speed; sounds noisy; feeder speed was tested and works; machine will build and held main pressure and pre-compression pressure; tested while going over machine, no long term tested with pressure was performed; lubrication system contactor energizes but lube pump does not run; HMI did intermittently controlled main and pre-compression pressures and lube contactor; when you start using it, protocol error is displayed and screen locks up; sometimes it reconnects; when power cycled it reconnects; this HMI was discontinued in 2006; electrical panel needs filtration, power in enclosure; one red lion controller is dead the other is not working; also found cut wires in machine that I have not yet identified;

Mechanically:

Press was cleaned; turret was cleaned and rust removed; die table was stoned with 120,360 and 400 stones to remove burrs from die sockets and a die installed to test if burrs were removed; no measurements were performed on punch bores and die sockets; all upper and lower punch seals need to be replaced; one broken die lock was removed; lower punch retainer and clips need replacing; both thickness/penetration gearboxes were frozen due to rust; disassembled one box and found rusted bearings; used both gearboxes and belts from the spare machine; turret hand wheel is missing and shaft is damaged; front stainless cover is missing a cover plate; cams are worn and have damage; weight cam adjustments were hard to turn; weight cam boxes were disassembled, greased and reassembled; upper left main pressure roll is stiff ( more amount of force to turn than others); pressure roll surfaces have no major damage; feed frames have wear; feed frames were full of powder; feed frames were disassembled and cleaned; scrape off and take off blades need replacing; All feed frame wear items need replacing; damaged door handles and lock buttons were replaced or repaired; rear door glass was replaced with the spare presses rear door glass; chutes were damaged in transport-they were shipped installed on press; one chute is missing the reject paddle and actuator; the actuator on the other one is not working; hoppers are rough.
