UNUSED Sturtevant Model 3B Simpactor pin mill, rated for a max rotor speed of 5,516 RPM, driven by 25 HP motor, rated for up to 4 tons per hour. Capable of milling from 50 - 325 mesh. In operation, materials are introduced through the single-feed inlet, and the stream is divided to flow on either side of the external bearing column. Upon reaching the spinning rotor plate, centrifugal force propels the materials through intermeshing pins and against an impact ring. This process either reduces the friable particles through impact or gently separates the material into fractional parts when operated at low RPM. Serial number 0900333. Never put into service.
